I THINK SOMEONE SNEEZED ON ME AT THE CON.
Baltimore Comic-Con is over. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and the folks that dealt with my super-awkwardness when I wandered up to say hi. I did some sketches and, unlike last year, I remembered to document the work. I mean, they're shitty phone pictures but that's better than nothing, right? So here are some things I drew...

Clockwise from the top left: Phantom of the Paradise (um, Phantom of the Paradise), The White Stripes, Watch and Ward (The Venture Bros -- returning Sept. 12), space chick, the Order of the Triad (The Venture Bros -- did I mention it starts again Sept. 12) and a punk rock Storm (X-Men).
Next up: Small Press Expo (SPX) in Bethesda, September 11 - 12. I'll be at table C3, hustling my wares.

I love your Phantom of the Paradise picture. I mean, really, these are all wonderful, but Steven Bach was one of my professors in school, so I have a natural bias to that one.
ReplyDeleteHah, sorry. Bach was the head of UA in the 70s, and had a hand in the making of "Phantom of Paradise"... I believe he's even in the opening credits. At Bennington, when he screened it in his film history class, we all sort of had a laugh at this old school movie guy who got things like "Raging Bull" green-lighted to be one of the moving forces behind such a cult hit, "Rocky Horror" type movie.
ReplyDeleteApologies for catching you up in an art school in-joke.
Nice work. I don't know how I missed you at the con but looks like I missed out.
ReplyDeleteholy shit would i have Orpheus' babies? Yes I would.
ReplyDeleteI love the White Stripes sketch! Great likenesses, especially on Meg.
ReplyDeleteWoww.. c'est super chouette !
