It's probably about time for an update, isn't it.

Newsarama has posted a three-page preview of Marvel's Hawkeye #14, written by Matt Fraction, drawn by me and colored by Matt Hollingsworth. MATT SANDWICH. The issue comes out November 27, and it's the first part of an arc that explores Kate Bishop's adventures in Cali after the Hawkeye Annual. David Aja will be back with the odd-numbered issues as he and I switch off for a few months. I also recently did an interview with Newsarama's Chris Arrant if you'd like to check that out.

Then in December, you can find a few Wu pages in Marvel's Young Avengers #14. Issues #14 and #15 are kind of a two-part jam story written by Kieron Gillen with art from YA's Jamie McKelvie, myself, Emma Vieceli, Christian Ward, Joe Quinones, Ming Doyle, and Becky Cloonan. It will be, as some say, bananas. There's been a fun group e-mail going on where the artists share their progress with pages and we take turns feeling really inadequate about our own work. So, yeah, get that.

Speaking of jam comics: Last month, I contributed a page to the special DIAL E issue of Vertigo's DIAL H, written by China MiƩville. You can find it under Justice League #23.3. It was great fun -- I got to draw a menacing topiary dinosaur. Also, if you had told college-me I'd be in a comic alongside Zak Smith someday, my brain probably would have fallen out of my everywhere.

And in extra-rare convention news, I will be attending the upcoming Thought Bubble Festival in Leeds, Nov 23 - 24. It looks like I will be in the Royal Armouries Hall, according to the festival's lovely and incredibly thorough website. I will also be doing Saturday's Sketching Spotlight event and the Young Avengers panel. If you would like to pre-order a commission to pick up at the convention, please check out this link. Hot, hot, hot, limited, limited, limited.

I guess that's it for now. As always, my Twitter is a mess but far more regularly updated and you can also keep an eye on my #process tag on Tumblr if you like that sort of thing. Hope you're well, you look nice, say hello to your mother for me, etc.

  2. First: my mom shed a tear when I said hello for you. She wonders why you don't call anymore and she apologizes about the gipsy curse. Apparently she was angry about that thing that happened that one time between you two and that's why you grew a scrotum last February. If the curse worked. If not don't worry about it. But, also: Can't wait to read your Hawkeyes! It's one of my favorite monthlies (with Saga) and I'm eager to see what you do with it. Your Batgirl Beyond issue was Great. Keep up the great work and sorry about the scrotum joke I already regret it oh god why did I write that?
